I'm running Ubuntu 11.10 and I'm not using Gnome mode.
I prefer to have most windows semi-transparent by default, so I set this in "Opacity, Brightness and Saturation" (CCSM):
type=Menu|PopupMenu|DropdownMenu|Combo|Dialog|ModalDialog|Utility|Tooltip|Notification Opacity=75
type=Normal Opacity=85
It works. However, a browser window looks wired with transparency.
I'm unable to select items in my network menu. I can open the drop down from the menu bar, but if, for instance, I try to enable wireless networking through the drop down menu, nothing happens.
I can change it in the Networking Settings menu, just not from the menu bar.
Other menu bar menus seem to work correctly.
yesterday after few updates (some of them in java) the Eclipse lose ability to move it's menu to the global-menu bar.
I was try to remove/add different java from the ubuntu's repositories but it still not showing in the global-menu.
So my question is, what versions of java (including the sun's) supports globalmenu, i don't care what are licenses and other like that.
I know how to change the Opacity of the task bar in Unity on Ubuntu 12.10 VIA Compiz. My question is, is there a way I can change the Opacity of the Menus? See, in the image below, it shows the App Bar that it almost transparent. But, on the Calendar, it is mostly black. I would like to make it match the App Menu and all other menus.
With most programs, context (right-click) menus and other menus have a shadow under them to indicate that they're separate from the rest of the program. This makes them easy to read. In LibreOffice, however, menus don't have shadows, and the top menu (file/edit/view, etc) is still in the program window itself, instead of in the global menu. How can I fix these problems?
I use a music notation program called Finale with Wine on Ubuntu. It is a great program, but its menus can be a bear to navigate and look for everything, especially if I know just the name of what I need. Is there a way that I could create artificial HUD options for this program?
I am using Komodo Edit, a software based on Gecko (Mozilla). FYI, for now, it's not supported yet for global menu, still using classic menu. I have been trying searching till reached lauchpad, and just found rdf file. It is should be *xpi isn't it?
But, just tried might be work, I downloaded it, and dragged it into add-on window. Like I expected, it didn't work.
Hi,As much as I like Unity, I'm just not quite sure about the dissappearing Application file menu. I mean I don't really follow the logic is one supposed to memorize what drop down menu's are available for each application, until mouse overing the global menu?either way I'd like to know if it is possible to make the file menu's permanently visible for all applications that use the global menu?
