[ubuntu] Cinnamon becoming unresponsive

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hi, I hope I'm posting this in the right place! I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 and have the following desktop environments installed on my system: Unity, Gnome Shell and Cinnamon. My favourite by far is Cinnamon, but I'm experiencing a very annoying problem with it. After a while of using my computer, the system will suddenly becoming unresponsive. It's not a full freeze, as I can still move my mouse and the cursor will change depending on what item it's hovering over (still shows text cursor over text, hand over links, etc.). Nothing I do can unfreeze it, as I cannot launch the terminal, close wind (Hardware)

Unity is the default Desktop environment of Ubuntu 12.04 – Precise Pangolin, LTS (from the last few versions, before that GNOME was the default desktop).

Cinnamon is a LinuxMint project, a fork of Gnome Shell. Cinnamon comes with a Gnome2-like panel at bottom, with classic menu, favourite apps, and system tray icons on it. Cinnamon also has Gnome Shell Activity icon on top-left with “Windows & Themes”.

Cinnamon just released 1.1.3 version few hours ago with improvements of menu, panel launcher, etc.

I couldn't find anything on google, so I was wondering if you guys could help me?After installing the catalyst drivers I installed cinnamon via the AUR.Cinnamon loads fine, however, once the panel (and the desktop overall) loads, the mouse cursor flickers and becomes invisble.

Hi all. I have a netbook which uses the cedar view driver for its graphics(GMA 3600) and I can't get gdm, gnome or cinnamon to work. Xfce, lxde and SLiM work fine.When I do systemctl start gdm then the screen goes black and a watch icon appears which I can move. I then get errors about journalctl not being able to write log due to there being too many arguments.
