I have a PC that has an integrated graphics chip on the motherboard. It runs X nicely. I bought a video card (NVIDIA GEFORCE FX5200), installed it in a PCI slot, downloaded the drivers from the nvidia website, installed them, rebooted, connected the monitor to the new video card, and that worked fine.
I currently am running Fedora 17 with 2 different monitors on a ATI 4870 series video card with stock drivers. The system runs beautifully as is, but I'd like to add a matching video card plus one more monitor. My question is can I simply do this with my existing system & drivers or would I need to start over and redo everything?
I want to install a video card into a server. When it is inserted, server does not boot up and there is no video signal coming from video card. 4 LEDs at the back of the motherboard show pattern G-R-R-A which means "Disabling the console controller" (see Appendix C in manual). There was another (older) video card in that PCI slot and it worked fine.
Hi everyone, I'm not sure this is the right forum.
I am running the newest version of Ubuntu (12.04 LTS). I have 2 video cards that I am using that I would like to use to power my 2 displays, so that both monitors can be run on DVI. The first card is my primary card and is an ATI/AMD Radeon 4850 that is in a 16x PCIe slot. The second is a low-end NVIDIA PCI card.
I have been trying this to no avail. I am a linux newb, so a step by step explanation would be greatly appreciated. I have two video cards, nvidia geforce 8600 gt . I want a monitor to run on each card, so twinview cannot be used because my understanding that is only for single video cards.
I went to the system monitors tab and my second display is detected but disabled.
Hi, I apologize if this may be kind of a dumb question; I have two video cards; an ATI and an NVIDIA card; My question is fairly basic; X11 aside, should I be able to plug both video cards in and get the 'console' to display by default out of both cards? Do I have to do anything special to setup the second card for console (i.e non-X)? I know the OS is detec
hi, I'm fairly new at Ubuntu and Linux in general. With that said, I have been patient enough and resourceful enough to find most of my questions already answered by googling it or looking here. Right now I have been looking for days on a way to do this and i have found no successful answer.
I am using Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04 with the most current updates init
I am looking to purchase a new video card and I want to run three LCDs side-by-side.
I normally would buy NVidia, but from what I have read, ATI is the leader in multi-monitor with their Eyefinity technology.
My Hardware
My motherboard is a ASRock P67 EXTREME4 GEN3.
