This is silly. Absolutely silly.
I can play music thro audacity, musescore, rhythmbox. But I get no sound from Rosegarden or Muse.
OK, I tried some mutation of jackd, timidity. It does not work. Everytime I install a ubuntu on a new system, I forget what I did to get alsa to work.
Come on people, when I run a sound editing software on Windows, they simply start working.
Tearing my hair out here guys, please help!
Installed UbuntuStudio, all good. Trying to get a basic Ardour session up and running, not so good.
I have followed the basic tutorial https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToQjackCtlConnections and can get sound. Yay.
MuseScore is a free cross-platform WYSIWYG music notation program that offers a cost-effective alternative to commercial programs such as Sibelius, Finale and Capella. You can print beautifully engraved sheet music or save it as PDF or MIDI file. MuseScore works with many different formats, including PDF and MID. Plug-ins will also extend MuseScore's functionality.
Hi All,
I have rooted my evo3d with Zerg Rom. Everything works great but the default alarm sound is horrible and frequently makes me annoyed at 6am before work so I googled a bit and found zedge.
I have a Korg Nanokey, and I'd like to make it produce sound in ubuntu. I've read that means I should be using Rosegarden, and that Rosegarden uses JACK, but does not install it. (Although checking out Ubuntu Software Center, apparently some components of JACK are installed by default?)
I understand there can be a lot of work setting up JACK without it fighting the default sound server.
For some applications, dash search comes up empty when searching by the application's full name. When typing the first couple of letters, it works. I wonder why...
MuseScore is a fine example. When I search for "muse" in the dash search, MuseScore is found. When I search for "musescore", nothing is found.
This behavior makes me distrustful of the dash search...

Can anyone tell me why the default "BEEP" plays when there is a different sound associated with an action? I have the Ubuntu sound profile set and when in the selection of sounds list, where you can choose what sound to associate with what action, the right sound plays.
