http://ubuntuforums.org – Another upgrade - another treasure hunt with the Canon printer... Actually, it works quite well under CUPS, so I shouldn't complain. But I would like to see it work again with the Canon driver & I am not there yet. Canon Australia doesn't have Linux drivers for iP4300 any more (sad) but they are still available from Canon Europe. http://software.canon-europe.com/ I downloaded Linux_Print_Filterv270.tgz OK. Extracted & converted cnijfilter-common-2.70-2.src.rpm & cnijfilter-ip4300-2.70-2.i386.rpm to .debs. Tried to follow the latest instructions I could find (but I (Hardware)

I'm trying to setup a Canon ip2600 printer on Ubuntu 12.04.1

I've already got an HP Laserjet 2100M working using HPLIP Toolbox and configuration via http://localhost:631

But the Canon ip2600 printer driver is not listed in http://localhost:631/admin/

If I go into Ubuntu Software Center and try to install cnijfilter-ip2600series I get this popup

I have installed this good printer on Ubuntu 9.04. You must download the official driver from http://it.software.canon-europe.com/products/0010550.asp, select your OS and download the drivers. You will have to install to files, first the "commond" software...

Here is the updated drivers for Canon MP990 XPS wireless series. This is the driver version 5.30b for Canon MP990 XPS All in one Printer for Windows Vista and Windows 7. If you have older version, please update your printer driver using this 5.30b version.

I'm using a canon ip4300 on ubuntu 11.1. I finally got Scribus to recognize my printer, but when I print the document it shows up in the spooler for a few seconds the disappears.

But in other programs the color is way off (very dark) and the resolution only goes up to 600x600. I downloaded the gutenprint-5.2.7.tar.bz2 but can't make heads or tails of how to install it from the ReadMe file.
