I'm looking to auto copy the contents off of a disc on insert to a specified directory. It's not a DVD or cd simply one data file on every disc, would it be possible to do this with a shell script?
I have just installed a rsync backup server with ubuntu server 12.04.
I had to wait for the 2TB hdd to arrive, so i used a 80gb disc to set the system up.
when the disc arrived, i used clonezilla with samba to clone the image over to the 2TB disc.
Still, after changing image my disk shows the size of 72gb.
What to do ?

Just stopping in for a quick question...and I'm a bit of a newbie so please bare with me.
When I had my HTC Rezound, I would plug it into my computer and two pictures of disc drives would appear on my desktop (supposedly representing the removable and in-phone memory content).

I need to use ubuntu for a class project but don't want to have it installed on my computer. I was told I could burn it to a disc and run it from there. How do I do that?
I put the windows installer on the disc already but when I go to download ubuntu from that program, it asks me to make a password and user name and the only option it gives for location is my C:\ drive.
Every thread I went to told me, to burn MP3 disc I have to select data disc in Brasero or in other burning app. This is not true, I have wasted my CD ten times just to burning a working MP3 disc. It plays with some of my player but not all. To burn an MP3 disc with data mode on Brasero or other app is absolutely dumb.
On Windows, it has Ashampoo Burning Studio Free.
