Does anyone know how to play .wmv files, i have tried downloading and installing the following:

Alos tried using both VLC media player and movie player, in movie player the video does not show but i can hear the audio and in media player i get the following error:
"No suitable decode

I have a problem to play video in res 720p on my xperia x10 now im using DiXperia8 - Stock version, before install DX8 when i wos have android 2.3.3 videos play good (no lag) in oryginal video player and in "MX Video Player", after install DX8 standard app named "QuicPic" say that he cant open that video file.
I was downloaded a movie in AVI format. I can play the movie on my laptop but I want to play the movie on my DVD player.

I wanted to play a few .mov files which I just copied from my PC. Of course Google Play Movies doesn't work so -- as some suggested -- I downloaded RockPlayerLite which worked fine.

i duel boot windows 7 64 bit / 12.04 lts
I tested a file that is 1080p full hd video quality. At the top of the video when using vlc it flickers like its skipping video frames. When i booted into windows 7 and ran the same file it was flawless perfect video playback so i am ruleing out a hardware issue.
also with movie player it does not play sound.
Ok so i bought the amd5300 cpu with integrated graphics for my HTPC after reading that it can play 1080p video no sweat. I installed the drivers from the ati website (using the ubuntu drivers thing resulted in an 'unsupported watermark' which is now gone).
I transferred the batman 1080p mp4 video to the machine and whenever I launch it vlc just freezes.

I purchased the Asus TF700t for my wife, which she is thrilled with, except she has discovered, that when she opens a website ie "Housewives of new Jersey" and clicks on an episode to play, the link opens with a small video window, but nothing plays.
This also occurs in the stock browser, you can surf to a web site, but if there is a video on offer to watch, when you click on

has any one tried to play a video at 1.5x or 2x speed? i want to play some informative videos at 2x speed and having hard time to find a player that can do this job.
iMPlayer does this (with s/w codec mode) but has bad audio quality and cannot play the video smoothly (there is a lag in the frames).
