I have used 12.04 on a Toshiba laptop for years with several wireless USB mice. After several months using only the touchpad, only two of three wireless mice will work. I've done nothing but 12.04 updates in the meantime.
I need some people who use ubuntu 10.04 if they experience some wireless issues and heat issues. I want to know before I install it. I have toshiba m900 core 2 duo 2.2ghz, 3gb memory, ati radeon 4500, realtek wireless lan, realtek pcie.
I am pulling my hair out trying to get wireless working .I have tries 9 10 11 12 and 2 versions of Puppy Linux. The first time I tried was with Linux Mint 11 and it prompted me to download the firmware installer and STA drivers for the Broadcom b43 .

I am at my wits end , please help.
I have recently installed Ubuntu 12.10 on my Toshiba Satellite L855D-100 laptop.
The wireless card is not recognized, and I have no idea where to start to get it working.
I have also tried to install Linux Mint, but have the same problem there.
