So I am having this problem because I don't know anything about routers and I don't know anything about linux.
When I first upgraded to 9.10 the network manager wouldn't connect to my DSL so I used the pppoeconf ( I don't know what it does just that it works now).
Hi All
I tinkered with Linux 3 yrs or so ago and gave up. I have now tried again....not very succesfully
My desktop stopped working wirelessly so it is now linked up to my router (talktalk Huawei EchoLife Home Gateway IGD) and i intend(ed) to use it as storage for a home network
.
have a DSL modem setup with 192.168.1.1 local IP. Everything working fine. Then have a linksys wireless router that I have connected to the DSL modem. I have enabled DHCP on the wireless router, and have assigned 192.168.107.1 IP address to this router, with 255.255.255.0 as the mask.
I have a Compaq pessario CQ60, a wireless network, and a Atheros AR5001 Wireless Network Adapter and I cant get the wireless internet to connect. the wireless works fine on vista, and I got the internet working via cable, but I need to get it working wirelessly. I am a beginner to linux, but know a little ( nothing in terminal though).
Hi,
I have recently bought a HP Envy DV7-7201 which had Windows 8 on it. I installed Ubuntu 12.04 alongside it and everything was fine at home. I could access the internet through my wireless router (RTA10235WE) using Ubuntu.
I am visiting family for the holidays who have a Vodafone EasyBox wireless router. Windows 8 connects to the router fine.
hello all, i have a problem connecting to the internet at home, but have no problem connecting to the internet in other places. My computer connect ot the router but does not receive a connection to the internet form the router. this happens both wireless and ethernet. at the same time everybody elses computers (using windows) connect to the internet in my home.
My laptop was running smoothly until yesterday. Today, I can't connect to the internet at home anymore. I am only able to access the router, but no internet access. A have a Dell Latitude E6320 with ubuntu 12.04. At my job, I don't have any problems connecting this laptop both via wireless and ethernet. At home, if I try connecting it through Windows it does work fine.
I recently installed Ubuntu 11.10 on my Sony Vaio CR120E. I've been able to connect to the wireless internet at my school fine, but when I came home this weekend, my computer has been having issues connecting to my home router. I can connect to the router, but the internet is on and off. Sometimes the internet works (very slowly), but most of the time it doesn't work.
