Hi,
I'm using dual monitor on Ubuntu 12.10. Both monitor had same brand and type, the only difference is one using DVI cable and others using RGB. The DVI Monitor resolution are 1280x1024 and the other monitor are 1024x768. How I could change the resolution of my RGB monitor to be the same as DVI monitor.
I face with a big problem , I bought a monitor that it supports at last 1280x960 resolution and i create an application on Ubuntu in 1280x1024 resolution,it takes time to finish it so in this case i should adjust and fit my screen on Ubuntu with this lower resolution,
when my system boot via 19 inch monitor that has my suitable resolution , it detects and set this resolution and it comes up , I ch
I have just setup a dual monitor system with a 23 inch LED monitor and a 19 inch LCD monitor. The 23 inch one is connected through HDMI. The 19 inch one is connected to the analogue port of the same GPU (Nvidia Geforce 210).
In Ubuntu 12.10, after installing Nvidia drivers, the 23 inch monitor works fine but the 19 inch monitor got a very low resolution.
I have a Dell Inspiron 4000, 900 Mhz Pentium III, 192 MB RAM,10.1 GB disk running Lubuntu 12.04. When I start the computer, and I check the display resolution, Monitor Settings claims that the max resolution is 1024x768.

I am impressed!
My old 1280x1024 monitor died three days ago, and with some trepidation I have purchased a new Hanns-g HL198 widescreen monitor with a resolution of 1440x900. I was anticipating having to mess around a little with configurations to get the new resolution, but I needn't have worried.
Hi All!
I've changed my monitor from a 19" 4:3 to a 22" 16:9. This one can be used with 1920x1080 resolution that we have tested on an OpenSuse 11.1 and a Windows 7 machine. Now I'd like to connect it to my 11.3 box.
But under 11.3 it is not possible or I do not know how to change to a widescreen resolution. Not 1920x1080 but any.
I had a wide screen monitor die on me. :-(
The only other monitor I have doesn't seem to support the wide resolution I had on the big monitor.
When I try to boot it up, using the smaller monitor, it throws an error message "Input Not Supported". It does this using either my video card or my onboard graphics.
Just after the release I installed Lubuntu 12.04 on an old ThinkPad T43 with a 1024x768 resolution display.
This T43 is also often used in a dock connected to an old 19" Dell LCD monitor with 1280x1024 native resolution via a standard VGA-cable.
Every time the T43 was booted in the dock with the Dell monitor it has been necessary to manually change resolution using the auto setting.
