Since june 2010 has every new update of Firefox caused it to freeze immediately after launching it, no window shows but it's there in the list of sleeping processes. Trying to launch it a second time results in the message "Firefox is already running".
Running Ubuntu 12.04 with Virtual box and I set it for 128 MB of RAM. I can not use more than 128MB of RAM. Since the browsers I know like Firefox, Google Chrome & Chromium seem to eat more RAM, could somebody suggest me browsers which need low RAM?
I usually have different instances of my web browsers to attend to various types of usages, on Windows that means using portable versions of Chrome and Firefox. The existing portable versions of Firefox and Chromium for Linux are outdated and lack immediate support, compared with the portable apps for Windows.
I am using ubuntu 11.10 , after i updated ubuntu , seems all browsers stopped working except Opera ( Google Chrome , Chromium , Epiphny , Firefox , Qupz.. ) etc ...
first time this happened i removed adove-flash plugin then reinstalled it , this time it's not working !
I am wondering if anyone experienced such an issue , and how it can be solved !
Thanks in advance
regards

I have 2 internet connections from 2 different ISP:
1- At home and its working fine for all browsers on ubutnu 10.04 and windows 7.
2- At work, there is a problem with the browsers on ubuntu.
Since I started out using Linux with Ubuntu (10.04), I have been testing various Gnome-based desktop environments for a new system. The new ones listed above all have the same problem, which is that they tend to freeze when the system is (I guess) overloaded with processes.
I'm new in linux and I using Ubuntu 11.10, when I login always freeze, and very rarely normal login. no response from keyboard and touchpad.
