Hi,
Initially hibernate/resume was working fine. But now system hibernate but doesn't resume, instead it boot-up normally.
My system is able to resume from suspend only after I've let it hibernate:scratch:.
When I do a fresh boot and suspend the system just after the desktop started, resuming will result in a black screen and I had to power off the computer (see pm-suspend-kde-fail.log).
I'm on Arch and I have a strange issue with systemctl hibernate command. It hibernates and resumes just fine (I have TuxOnIce), but in the last stage of resume, it completely shuts down my laptop screen, so I cannot see anything even though I know the system resumed just fined and the desktop is running.
Hi guys,
I just freshly installed 12.04 LTS Desktop version on my laptop, and managed to install all my apps and get everything working fine which took me over a day.
It was all honky dory until I installed hibernate from Synaptic, and rebooted to set the power-options ( hibernate on closing the laptop lid ), but I never saw the light of Ubuntu's day again.
After the reboot, in failsafe mode
I recently got a new laptop (Thinkpad X230). I didn't really have time to do a fresh install so I copied my install (xubuntu 12.04) over from my old machine (Thinkpad X61). Now when I try to hibernate it seems to do the Hibernate step fine, but doesn't seem to try and resume when booting back up. It just does a fresh boot.
Since switching to Karmic, suspend and hibernate are not working consistently on my Toshiba Satellite. I have it set to hibernate when I close the lid, but doing so only turns off the screen. The suspend and hibernate keys on my keyboard also no longer work. When I select these options from the menu, the computer will suspend or hibernate properly.
I'm trying to setup hibernate on my new rig, and I've gotten tuxonice working a few times, but then I had a failed hibernate, and sense then, I can't resume from a hibernate. TuxOnIce has the loading bar, and the text interface, and successfully brings the computer into hibernate. However when resuming from hibernate, the screen stays black, then displays random pixels everywhere, and hangs.
Hi there,
I have an MSI WInd u100 with Ubuntu 9.04 jaunty on it. Laptopmode is enabled and it can Suspend/Hibernate and Resume without any problem.
I was wondering if there is a way I can get the laptop to go from Suspend state to Hibernate after a given period of time.
Ubuntu 12.04 64bit refuses to hibernate when battery is critically low. Instead it does a complete shutdown which is unnecessary and can cause loss of data.
I have enabled Hibernate (pm-hibernate) on following the common instructions I tested pm-hibernate it is works fine when run manually.
I have set my power options to hibernate "When Power is Critically Low".
