I am having issues with using Bluetooth PAN. I recently upgraded from 10.04 to 10.10. On my 10.04 system I used GNOME Bluetooth to setup a new device and once paired, it remembered this paring and when connecting from Network Manager, no passkey was required.
Now on 10.10, after I have setup the device using GNOME Bluetooth, which requires a passkey and pairs the devices.
I'm a very basic Ubuntu 11.10 user and I'm trying to stream music on a Logitech wireless speaker adapter for bluetooth audio devices.
I can get to pair the device with my computer, but I can't play music. I also can't find the device on the Sound Settings.
I tried with Blueman, but with the same results. I've seen that this problem was solved before, but I can't make it work in mine.
I have searched on how to remove devices and keep finding the usual "press and hold device until menu pops up". Well that does not work on a T-Mobile S3. I paired with my wife's car, my truck, and headset. I rarely drive my car and every time in get in it alerts me every 2 mins or so "confirm passkey to pair with the device".

Anyone else have the JBL Power Up Speaker with wireless charging? Wireless charging works great and bluetooth works once paired.
The problem I am having is that the DNA does not respond to the NFC and automatically pair the bluetooth. When touching the DNA to the speaker the speaker recognized the DNA and starts trying to pair to the device (indicated by the blue flashing light).
I have a current working setup of mpd -> alsa on ubuntu server 11.10.
I now have an usb<>bluetooth adapter, with which i can see the to-be-paired device (logitech adapter) with hcitool scan.
So far I haven't been able to pair/connect to the device from ubuntu server.
I know we can pair any bluetooth device without promoting on user screen but it is not secure. I guess as passkey will remain same for such connections for all the devices so anyone can sniff or do eavesdropping. How can we reduce the risk or make it more secure?
I heard somebody is saying user public/private key to generate the link key but is that possible for such insecure connections??
Is the usb device recognized when you run lsusb in the terminal?I don't do much BT on the pc but I seem to remember bluez and blueman from my previous adventures. Might want to run apropos to see what you've got:[redacted]@[redacted]:~$ apropos bluetooth

I use ubuntu 12.10 64 bit. Every time I turn my computer on, I have to manually connect to my bluetooth speakers and change audio output to bluetooth device.
