Below is my experience getting 44.1KHz, 96KHz and 192KHz sound using K(u)buntu. Hopefully it will save someone else some time.
I have a USB DAC (digital to analogue converter) connected, taking input from my Kubuntu 11.04 machine and sending output to pre-amp/amp/speakers.
Hello. I'm recently back to using ubuntu, after terrible windows years, and I really like ubuntu Studio. However, I'm having trouble putting my M-Audio Fast Track II to work. I see many people in forums complaining about similar problems with similar m-audio products, but I also see some folks say it works just fine.

This is a rather annoying problem.
For some reason, when I plug my headphones into the jack on my laptop, the audio STILL comes out of my main speakers as well as the headphones. I tried out another pair of headphones just to make sure it wasn't them that was the problem, but the problem still persisted. I just want to listen to music through my headphones...:|
I recently decided to try Ubuntu. I made a dual-boot installation on my Dell Studio 17.
The audio plays just fine through the speakers, but will not play through the headphones. Only one of the head phone jacks is acknowledged as an output source.
Please help. I am new to Ubuntu so step by step instructions would be preferable. Thanks.
I have just recently installed Ubuntu 9.10 64 bit on my HP Pavilion dv7 laptop. The installation worked smoothly and everything seems to be in place. There is just on issue, my audio driver, IDT, was not installed and whenever I try to listen to music through headphones, the audio comes through both the headphones and speakers.
This tutorial will show you how to covert your audio files into FLAC, MP3, WAV, AAC (MP4) or other formats easily in Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid with Gnac audio converter.
Hello,
I have a amd64 desktop, which I've used gentoo and linux mint before, and did not have issues with audio. Since few months I have ubuntu 12.04(32 bit version), and have horrible multimedia experience.
Hi there. Using ubuntu 11.04 64 bit. Trying to pipe the audio for my xbox360 into and through my laptop with a female-rca to male-3.5mm analog y-adapter to a pair of external speakers.
