http://ubuntuforums.org – Hey there, I currently have 2 nVidia 560's which are both dual monitor. As some of you might know, it seems the only way to run a 4 monitor setup is to run each pair of monitors as their own Twinview, then stitch them together using xinerama. This basically creates two large "screens" that each span two monitors. Unfortunately, xinerama is very old and outdated. And back around the time that Ubuntu 11.04 came out, a bundled update to xorg caused us to loose support for quad monitors using nvidia and xinerama all together without the use of a convoluted hack/patch job. Hi,i have successfully installed Archlinux on my laptop, everything is fine!  Xcfe desktop env. is able to handle dual monitor with the "xinerama" option (move windows between screens) with the "/etc/X11/xorg.conf/10-monitor.conf" config.

I have the following xorg.conf file, but TwinView is not working for me when using 2 monitors.

Trying on Ubuntu 13.04. First 2 displays on the primary card work like a champ. I've installed nvidia-current and generated my xorg file. Then I go and enable monitor #3 on card #2. Without xinerama enabled, I just get a gray screen and a big ugly X mouse cursor when mousing onto monitor #3. When I enable xinerama, after logging in I get the wallpaper and a mouse cursor, but no panels or unity.

Hi guys! I've got an interesting setup going here and wondering if it's possible to set it up the way I want it. I have 3 monitors. 2 of them are hooked up to my nouveau card and one of them is hooked up to the intel integrated graphics.

Hi All,OK then I been just about everywhere I can think of with google (and some places I don't want to go to again!!) but this has got me pulling my hair out and the Mrs is starting to get angry because I could be doing something useful instead of playing on the computer and going bald.The basic problem is that I have 2 video cards fitted with a monitor connected to each.

Ok. I have been banging my head against the wall for over a week now trying to get 3 monitors to work.

I have:

1 - Nvidia 8600 GT 512MB PCIEx16

1 - Nvidia GT 240 1GB PCIEx16

They are not running in SLI (obviously). I have tried to use everything from tutorials to a few templates, all the way up to nvidia-settings, etc etc etc..

I have Ubuntu PP desktop 64 bits with recommended nvidia drivers. I have 1 Monitor and 1 TV connected to the same video card Geforce 9800 GT (2 DVI).

I use the TV from time to time as a second monitor. Because the settings were not all that clear I messed around with Xinerama and XServer configuration.
