http://forum.xda-developers.com – Does anyone know if someone is developing an android ROM based off of the Ubuntu OS? I'd really like to try something like that. MiNCO (Maguro) with my Galaxy Nexus (HowTos)

Translation I managed to install Ubuntu on my phone (Samsung Galaxy Nexus Maguro). I don't like it right now, though, so I wanted to reinstall Android - this fails. I downloaded the Android file and unpacked it.

I want to build a linaro optimized build of stock JROOR0 or whatever the number was again for GALAXY NEXUS TORO. I know how to compile and build a rom. is it as easy as syncing with a repo?

I originally posted this in the Galaxy nexus forums, but its not device specific as far as I know and works on both my nexus 7 and galaxy nexus so I'll post it here.

Which one is the best for community support (ROMs, mods, etc) and manufacturer support (accessories, drivers, etc)?

A pure Google Phone (Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus) or a phone that sold very well (Galaxy S II, Galaxy S III)?

Is it safe to buy a Galaxy Nexus/Galaxy SII now (solid hardware, going to survive at least two more years of updates) or is it better to wait for the next Nexus/buy the Galax

Not sure if I am alone on this and I am sure I will probably get a lot of heat. Our 7.7 has been out close to a year now (correct me if I am wrong) and I am a bit sad that there isn't much development on this tab.
