My wife runs an Ubuntu desktop that we use Rhythmbox to listen to music with. I run the latest Opensuse on a netbook that I listen to music at work with. I run KDE, but I use Banshee because I prefer its interface to Amarok. It was trouble getting Mp3 to work, and I still havn't gotten to work on Amarok.
Hey, so I use Banshee 2.4.1 with Ubuntu 12.10 {quantal quetzal} and have a partition of my hard drive which runs Windows {and has iTunes}.
I'm having a bit of an annoying problem with Banshee. I have a library that's not so big, only 300-400 songs. However, I'm the problem arises when I play songs. When I double click to play a song, it plays normally, as expected. But during a playlist or my whole library, or even a playlist with a single song being played, something funny happens: It starts the next track f.ex.
Banshee is a media management and playback application for the GNOME desktop, allowing users to import audio from CDs, search their library, create playlists of selections of their library, sync music to/from iPods and other media devices, play and manage video files and burn selections to a CD.

My music library consists of 2 folders, one with FLAC and one with MP3s. All of my FLACs have been converted to MP3 so I can use them on my iPod and therefore are in the MP3 folder. I have many more MP3s than FLACs however, so I wish to keep the MP3s that I don't have as FLACs.
Please note that I don't want to delete the files I just want to remove them from the library.
Hi everyone,
I've searched everywhere to see if others had the same problem (both forums and general internet search). No luck.
I can run Banshee fine, import an iTunes music library, and play music. But when I plug in my iPod (Nano G5), instead of detecting the iPod, Banshee freezes. Now Ubuntu itself detects the iPod just fine.
I have Banshee 2.6.0, and I connect my Android phone by USB to sync my music collection of about 1500 songs. For the most part, it works reliably.
However, on every sync, it deletes, and then recopies the same 62 songs each time. After that, everything works, and the sync completes successfully.
I'm trying to import songs off of CDs that are in mono. I can import them in Banshee or Rhythmbox, but the result is a stereo MP3, and I reason that if the mono songs are in stereo, then they're taking up twice as much space as they should be.
Banshee's Amazon MP3 Import extension until recently allowed seamless importing of songs purchased from Amazon MP3.
