Currently i have 2 Radeon video cards with 2 DVI ports on each (for a total of 4DVI ports) and i have 2monitors working fine both plugged into the first card, now after plugging in a 3rd monitor in (either of the 2 ports on second card) it doesn't get detected
lspci | grep VGA

So I'm not a total noob at ubuntu, but this feels like a noob question. I recently installed 12.10 on my desktop and I can't run minecraft anymore, it's just a black screen. I assume this is a video driver issue.
I recently bought a good video card and want to see it work at it's full potential. Where can I get the drivers for an Nvidia GF 9800? I have looked around but there is no driver suggestion in the Hardware Drivers option of Ubuntu. I can't get envy to work either. How would I know if my video card is being used to it's potential? Help is appreciated thnx ._.
This is a periodic issue. I used to have a lower end video card and never had any problems. Then I got a Radeon R9 270 and ever 5 minutes or so the screen will get all messed up for a half second or so and flicker then come back to being completely normal. This is just really starting to annoy me. The problem happens in Ubuntu 14.10, Ubuntu 14.04 and Mint Linux as well.
I'm running Ubuntu 12.04. I had to reinstall the OS on this computer. I didn't have this problem before. This happens in VLC, and youtube. If I'll play a video in full screen, the screen will go black after about ten minutes, and the sound will kind of repeat over, and over where it went black. The only way to fix it is to restart the computer.
Hey i decided to try out Ubuntu as a seperate OS on my computer. Anyway, installtion goes fine, and i can restart over and over without anything bad happening. But if i activate either of the updates for my Nvidia GeForce 7100 / nForce 630i then restart to complete the update, i end up with a black screen with a few randomly coloured pixels once i log in.
Ok, I'm was watching some videos but suddenly it's just hangs on that black screen in the middle of video I can see anything but black the mouse cursor in the screen and the only option for me is to unplug the power to restart the computer, this happen to me now like four times so I really want to solve this!
the websites I visit don't have an HTML5 video option...
Adobe Flash Player 18.104.22.168,
I'm new to Ubuntu. I dual boot with Windows 8.1 and Ubuntu 14.04.1 on my notebook with hybrid video cards. The discrete video card does not work, so I only use the integrated video, which works perfectly.
I updated all packages, and later installed a program to see my CPU temp in my notebook, lm-sensors.
I want to install a video driver, but I have no clue how to do it.
I know my PC- Dell Inspiron 15 - intel core i5 has a Intel HD video card.
I went to their website and found this:
but I have no clue what should I download.
I use ubuntu 13.1
Help me please!
