Hi I have an Ati 4350 graphics card, and i usually use envy-ng to install my graphics card drivers but it has failed me for the first time, any ideas on how I can setup my graphics card for 3d acceleration, running 8.04.
hello i have a problem with my video card, i have 2 cards onboard, and a ati radeon hd 4350.
My friend has a computer with an ATI Radeon x1950 Pro graphics card installed. A few months ago, (he was using Windows XP) his display stopped working. All we could tell was the boot was successful but his monitor was displaying a "NO SIGNAL" message.
I've moved to ubuntu from windows 7. In W7 I had 3 monitors on 2 graphic cards. 2 monitors work from ati card and 1 from intel card. In ubuntu I can't make it to work like before. Now works only 2 monitors from ati card.
Hello,
I am trying to install Linux on my parent's computer because they are sick of viruses, but this process has been challenging because the computer is about 5 or 6 years old. I first tried openSuSe, but the graphics card is not supported (at least not automatically).
The computer is a Compaq Presario SR1750NX, and the integrated graphics card is an ATI Radeon Xpress 200.

Hi,
Ubuntu 11.10 was the last release that I could install on my Dell Inspiron 1564, with this graphics card:
Code:
02:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI RV710/M92 [Mobility Radeon HD 4330/4350/4550]
All releases after 11.10 froze once in 2-3 days, with color stripes on the screen.
I want to get a new laptop with a decent graphics card. I don't care that nVidia's drivers are closed source as long as they're good. I've heard that ATI drivers are buggier and I was wondering which card would be best. I have options like GT 240M, GT 320M, Radeon HD 4670. In theory I think 4670 is fastest, but if it is going to cause computer bugs it's not what I want. So my question is...
I've been running Ubuntu in BIOS-compatibility mode for a year now, but the ATI radeon card is quite power hungry and the noise of my fans spinning at max to compensate started to bother me.
I thought I'd share my experiences in getting Ubuntu 12.04 to work on a macbook pro 8,2 (15") in EFI-mode rather than BIOS-compatibility mode.
