After a clean install of 32 bit version Ubuntu 12.04 (twice) on an older Dell Dimension 2400 (not dual booting), My Microsoft brand wired USB mouse apparently has right click disabled on the desktop and in all applications.
First I tried VNC. Easy install through Ubuntu GUI, but I could only see a still picture of the Ubuntu-desktop that wouldn't update. I could see on the Ubuntu monitor that the cursor was moving and the keyboard did work, but on my Windows computer, the screen didn't refresh.
UNR on acer aspire one work fine for me but there is this weird problem about my mouse.
An old mouse i had worked perfectly find but a brand new mouse i bought had this strange problem.
I try to install Ubuntu in a VirtualBox (in Windows). It works perfectly. After that, I try to install on the physical machine. When setup ask if I want to "try" or "install", if i choose "try", I get faced with a wallpaper and a mouse cursor but thats it. Nothing else happens after that. No desktop, no icons, nothing but the wallpaper and mouse cursor. If I install happens.
Hi.
I have a Dell Studio 1715 laptop, which comes with bluetooth, webcam, fingerprint reader, everything. I enjoyed ubuntu a lot in this laptop.... until I met this problem.
I bought a bluetooth laser mouse, which didn't work for me before. Can't remember the brand... now it happens all over again with a brand new mouse, so it can't be the mouse itself.
So I'm running 12.04 using WUBI and whenever I try and login using the normal Ubuntu option (as opposed to Ubuntu2D) my mouse jumps to the right edge of the screen and everything just freezes. This only happens after I install a few things like dropbox and updates (tried just doing the essential without the recommended still did it).
Here's the issue. I'm installing Ubuntu on my bosses HP. LiveCD and install work just fine. After install, the mouse and keyboard just stop working. The keyboard works up to the login screen. at that point not even the numlock/capslock work.
Its a HP Pavilion pj508aa-aba a710n with a HP/Asus Kelut 2.02 MB and a HP keyboard and mouse (from a different system).
My mouse has become inoperative. I can still open and close windows, but within applications... firefox, thunderbird, system software installation, jEdit... the mouse no longer works. I can still get around using the keyboard...
So I just formatted and re-installed Ubuntu on my computer (Satellite C655). For half a second everything worked fine but then fore some reason my mouse stopped working. I've installed Ubuntu on this computer before and never had this problem. Also everything works perfect on my Windows 7 partition.
