Could you, pls, help me with my wireless card Atheros AR9285 on Ubuntu 10.12..
I've already went through all possible advices and still cannot start my wireless card.
I have a laptop Toshiba Portege Z830 where Wifi've already worked under Windows 7.
But after migration on Ubuntu 10.12.
Okay, I have a Atheros AR9285 wireless card and I can't seem to get ubuntu to reconize it. I've attempted to install and use the Ndswrapper thing (Sorry, forgot the exact name) it wont install it says that my perl directory is unsattisfactory and I've attempetted to solve this by installing everything it asked for yet in vain.
So, this is the card that the Samsung R480 Laptop has inside of it. It works superbly (at least with 10.04 Ubuntu which is what I tested with). No, need for any proprietary drivers or restricted hardware. The card installed and worked perfectly absolutely...
Today I installed Ubuntu 11.10 x64 on to my lenovo B570 using wubi.exe. After booting up, I discovered that I could not turn on wireless networking. I have a Atheros AR9285 wireless card.
I ran through the Ubuntu wireless troubleshooting guide, and the output suggest that the card has a driver, but it simply wont turn on!
12.10, Thinkpad R61i, can't detect wireless at all.
Should be a Atheros card.
But run:
dmesg|grep -i atheros
Nothing
lspci |grep -i atheros
Nothing.
Is this mean support of this kind of card is not available now?
Hi
Being fed up with Windows and put off by Apple's prices I bought a new laptop (MSI CR620 Intel Core i5-460m) with no OS, and installed Ubuntu 10.10.
My problem is that I can't get my wireless card to work.
The card is an Atheros AR9285. I've read a few threads and it seems that Ubuntu is supposed to recognise and work with Atheros cards automatically.
However.
Hi my name is Abraham and I have the Acer Aspire One 532h-2594 and it has the network card: atheros AR9285 wireless network adapter and I was wondering if I was the only one experiencing frequent disconnects? Also if there is a fix on this if any?
Thanks in advance!
Greetings! For sometime now my wireless connection is always 802.11g (54Mbit/s) but my WiFi card is 802.11n capable. Some google-ing sent me to topics from 2010 stating a bug with the ath9k driver and kernel panics, but this is not the case. There's some diagnostic information below:lshw: *-network
