I just wanted to make it mentioned that I have pretty much tried all editions of Ubuntu, and some Kubuntu and Xubuntu too, from versions 10.04 onward, on my Asus K53E laptop, and 11.04 Natty works the best of them all on my beloved Asus laptop! Even way better than Pangolin.
I have installed Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit os on my ASUS k53E. I cannot get bluetooth to work, I see that it says "No Bluetooth Adapter Found". I have an Atheros Bluetooth adapter, could you please help me how to get this fixed.
Thanks, Sunny.
Picked this laptop up recently and installed Ubuntu LTS 12.04.1 and it works brilliant right out of the box. No issues, sound, wireless, webcam, bluetooth all works and works well. Laptop runs the same temp as it did in Windows but far more snappier. Added x-swat ppa for latest Intel driver.
Hello,
I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 x64 with the latest updates on my ASUS K53E.
After a vanilla install of any ubuntu version, the K53E will not suspend properly. A script from here (http://thecodecentral.com/2011/01/18...ot-working-bug) fixes it right up.
However, for the past few days I've been getting more severe PM problems.
Hello, everyone! I'm new to Ubuntu and I love it so far. I installed it on a 2005 Gateway laptop just to see if I would like it. I'm hooked, but I've ran into a problem. I have a new ASUS laptop that came pre-installed with Windows 8. I have tried all kinds of tricks to get Ubuntu installed and nothing has worked.
I just bought this laptop (http://usa.asus.com/Notebooks/Superior_Mobility/Q200/), wiped win8 and installed Ubuntu 12.10 64bit. The processor is correctly recognized but Graphics is listed as Unknown. The chipset is Intel HM76. Is there a driver I can install for Ubuntu to take advantage of the graphics adapter?
Thanks!
I have an ASUS K53E laptop, running Ubuntu 12.04. Love it, the only OS so far which doesn't give me problems!
Anyway, my wireless network adapter is pretty much crap. It runs at only 65 Mbit/s, while it can handle 300 Mbit/s. It's an Atheros AR9285.
I googled around, found suggestions of setting the channel and frequency of my router.
