[ubuntu] Asus on board Graphic Card Driver

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hi All, I'm new but not that new to linux. However, when it gets to build/run edit File for graphic card i usually suck. I went to the ASUS website and they gave me a .run for the graphic driver. I have no clue how to make this work. I'm trying to use tutorials i find but none of them works A1. anyway, my graphic card is ASUS p5VD2-MX SE. Anyone can help me out?thanks a lot (Hardware)

i know my question is already asked but all question old,

i am going to build myself PC case and i already bought Motherboard, 16GB ram, and power supple (850 Watt), but only thing that i am so confused about it, is Graphic card, i dont know what is BEST graphic card for linux/ubuntu 12.04LTS

It's 2 year I've started using ubuntu. In ubutnu 10.04 until ubuntu 11.10 anything was Ok with my Graphic card, But when I migrate to ubuntu 12.04 I had a corruption in my graphic card and I paid expert to repair it. It was Ok with ubuntu 12.04 in continuous but when I upgraded to ubuntu 12.10 I'm never able to install my nvidia.

I tried to to use the ACPI call method ( http://linux-hybrid-graphics.blogspo...tch-onoff.html ) using 'echo '\_SB.PCI0.PEGR.GFX0._OFF' > /proc/acpi/call'.

As it has been reported, this works in switching off the graphic card but 10 seconds later the laptop fan starts spinning at full speed.

Also I'm not savvy enough to get 'asus switcheroo' to work...

I took the Thinkpad T400 configuration guide as an example to configure my Linux, but I only get the integrated card to work, and the card is not using the Intel driver

Currently, the behavior of my system is:

using the intel driver in the Xorg.config, X cannot starts, reports cannot find

I want to install compiz fusion but ubuntu doesn't recognize my ASUS graphic card (i looked at System>>Administrator>>Hardware Drivers)

what can i do?
