i am going to build myself PC case and i already bought Motherboard, 16GB ram, and power supple (850 Watt), but only thing that i am so confused about it, is Graphic card, i dont know what is BEST graphic card for linux/ubuntu 12.04LTS
i heard from different peoples telling me i should NOT buy NIVIDIA nor ATI because both of them have/has
It's 2 year I've started using ubuntu. In ubutnu 10.04 until ubuntu 11.10 anything was Ok with my Graphic card, But when I migrate to ubuntu 12.04 I had a corruption in my graphic card and I paid expert to repair it. It was Ok with ubuntu 12.04 in continuous but when I upgraded to ubuntu 12.10 I'm never able to install my nvidia.

I tried to to use the ACPI call method ( http://linux-hybrid-graphics.blogspo...tch-onoff.html ) using 'echo '\_SB.PCI0.PEGR.GFX0._OFF' > /proc/acpi/call'.
As it has been reported, this works in switching off the graphic card but 10 seconds later the laptop fan starts spinning at full speed.
Also I'm not savvy enough to get 'asus switcheroo' to work...
