[ubuntu] Aspire 5515 USB issue?

http://ubuntuforums.org – I have an Acer Aspire 5515 Notebook that has an odd issue with what I beleive to be a USB issue with Ubuntu 9.10 What happens is that after the system is booted for about 10 minutes it seems to loose usb functionallty I suspect. It looses wifi which I am using a usb adapter and the usb mouse seems to go aswell. I only have this problem with the 9.10 release and Mint 8 which is based on 9.10 If I run 9.04 or Mint 7 the problem is not there. I guess my question is if should just run a legacy edition of ubuntu on this computer or has somebody have any suggestions to t (Hardware)

So, I have an ACER Aspire 5515 with Windows 7 Ultimate installed. I have an AMD Athlon(tm) Processor 2650e 1.60 GHz processor. 1 GB RAM, with a 160 GB HDD.

So here's what I did:

I parititioned my hard drive. I have three partitions: a 10 GB hidden partition (for my bios), a 69.5 GB C:/ partition (holds my windows OS), and finally, a 69.5 GB partition that I used to install Ubuntu 12.10.

The ubuntu-12.04-desktop-i386.iso will not work with my processor (I've tried it).

Which alternative download should I choose for an x86 based PC with a x86 Family 6 Model 6 Stepping 2 authentic AMD processor running at 1254 Mhz?

I've installed Ubuntu 12.04 on my acer Aspire 5515 laptop without a single issue.

After searching through several forums, it seems that the CPU keeps running continuously is a quite common problem when running Ubuntu on a computer. There are several suggestions to how to fix this issue, but none have worked on my laptop, an Acer Aspire 5739g, so far.

I'm using an Acer Aspire One Net Book and I have Windows 7 Ultimate and Ubuntu dual booted.

Processor: 1.66 Ghz 1 GB Ram Intel Atom 64 bit

I noticed that in Ubuntu, web sites don't display well. While Windows 7 does it just fine. This happens in all browsers. I have ubuntu-restricted-extras installed.

My question is..

my friend asked me to install linux on her Acer Aspire One netbook, which I did (it was Linux Mint 14 xfce)

unfortunately after the install i've started experiencing serious overheating (sensors report 70-75 *C while doing nothing) which I cannot explain.

Hi folks, I've been struggling to get the correct resolution working on an Acer Aspire 1360 model for some 6 months. Ubuntu 11.10 works fine, except for this VGA issue.

I'm on the latest Linux Mint release on an Acer Aspire S3. Unfortunately I can't scroll using my Touchpad. Google helped a little bit since I now know that there should be Touchpad options in System Settings -> Mouse. Unfortunately this is not true for me.

Could somebody point me in the right direction?

Hello, I am very new to the Ubuntu Operating System and Linux overall. But I have recently acquired a Acer Aspire 4339-2618 that has Ubuntu Linux 12.04.1 installed as an operating system. This computer happens to have a problem where if you step about 15 feet away from the router you get disconnected from the internet/network.
