hi guys
Running the Elementary OS beta on my gf's netbook and went to install Dropbox last night from the (unbranded) Ubuntu Software Center.
It downloaded, said it was installing, and then froze up ~80% of the way through.
Install Dropbox on Fedora 18
This installation guide has been tested for Fedora 18. However, you can also use the same method to install Dropbox on Fedora 16 and Fedora 17.
Dropbox has vanished from my Ubuntu install.
It was here a week or so ago that i noticed (I have stopped using Ubuntu lately as Graphic drivers dont work properly in full screen (another post here still to be solved) so back to dual boot XP).
Anyway, just went to get some files out Dropbox on here , and noticed they were not in the Folder. So i went to the HUD, and typed dropbox.
I tried to install Dropbox using How to install Dropbox on 12.04?.
All solutions seem to fail: dropbox deamon loads untill 99% and than stops causing the system to go to 100% cpu usage.
Any help is appreciated.

I'm using Debian 6 and Dropbox. I followed these commands to install it.
When I run ~/.dropbox-dist/dropboxd — Dropbox works and stuff. Problem is that when I close terminal or, even worse, — reboot... Dropbox stops to work and I need to run that deamon again.
Are there any way I say to computer to automatically start that daeamon in background?
I have tried installing Dropbox via their website (the .deb file), using wget, and adding their repo, and every method has failed. How can I get it to work like it did in 12.04?
I have a clean install on my system, so it's nothing from 12.04 conflicting with it.
Hello Guys..
I just started using ubuntu. After installing dropbox, everything slows EXTREMLY down , and the only way it helps getting back to normal , is if i shutdown dropbox.
i tried reinstalling, it doesn't seems to help?
What am i doing wrong ? couldn't find any similar problems .

Simon
I'm rebuilding a fresh install on a dying laptop: Core 2 Duo T5550 which was running Vista
I put Fedora17 64bit and expected some failure, but none happened. Only Dropbox doesn't seem to install correctly.
I can go until the step
Code:
dropbox start -i
Then it starts behaving inconsistently.
