[ubuntu] Add to Simple Scan a scanner on network

http://ubuntuforums.org – Issue: I've a all-in-one printer (Lexmark x6675) directly connect it to my LAN network (with its corresponding ip). I have already configure it like a printer but Simple Scan not detect any scanner. For printer configure I've downloaded the drivers of lexmark: lexmark-08z-series-driver-1.0-1.i386.deb.sh http://support.lexmark.com/index?seg...rompage=null#1 And all ok with the printer, but I don't get the scanner found with ubuntu. I bought my Lexmark Z2420 printer at walmart for $50 for my girlfriend's homework assignments. I've read around that the printer is a paperweight. I have it running on my ubuntu computer. Here's how:

1. Download lexmark-08z-series-driver-1.0-1.i386.deb.sh from here

When I connected my printer to my pc, he found drivers & installed them. I thought everything would work, but when I did a testpage, the pc acts likes he's doing the job great, but the printer didn't do anything. So I searched on www.lexmark.be & I found (I think) an additional download: lexmark-08z-series-driver-1.0-1.i386.deb.sh.tar-1. Now it have to be extract, but I don't know where I

I've very recently switched over to Ubuntu (12.04) from Windows and I'm trying to install my printer.

Hello, I am new and would like to be able to stay with Ubunto but I can't seem to get my printer working. I noticed in the threads that Lexmark is not very compatible with Ubunto but I was wondering if anyone could help get a compatible printer driver for my p4350?

Can anyone tell me if there is a printer driver that will drive a Lexmark c540n laser printer? I have had a look on the Lexmark web site and could find no drivers for Fedora. Would a driver for, say, Red Hat function with this printer?

I have installed Karmic on this computer and now have the displays working more or less correctly thanks to help received in this forum. I am unable to use my printer however.

The printer does not seem to have been recognised at all.
