Well I'm about to install ubuntu 12.04 on my laptop, which is an acer aspire. I would like to know if is there any incompatibility? I installed this version (12.04) on an acer aspire and had several troubles with the hardware drivers.
I'll apreciate any help.
I have an ACER ASPIRE 4743G with dual boot Windows 7 and Ubuntu 13.10, Just installed the Ubuntu although it shuts down without notice.
I tried narrowing the reason, I checked the temperature of processors and drives and its way up 71-75. And Also the the laptop gets very hot.
Now any suggestions on how to solve the problem? I want to know what is causing it?
Is it possible to install Ubuntu 12.04 on an Acer Aspire One D257-1682? I have a disc that I used to run Ubuntu 12.04 on my desktop without incident. When trying to run it on my Aspire One, using an external DVD drive via USB, I get a ton of errors about missing files while it tries to load Ubuntu.
Has anyone had success loading and running a Linux distro on an Acer Aspire 1360?
I bought the Aspire in 2004, running XP. Now that XP is dead I would like to use the laptop with Linux. Unfortunately I cannot get the Ubuntu CD to load. Called Acer and was told Linux does not work on that model (???). They did not tell me why!!
I bought my second hand laptop - Acer Aspire V5 MS2377 - around a month ago and after I got far too frustrated with the Windows 8.1 OS with its slow start up speeds and Acer's own software truly clogging up the system I decided to dual boot ubuntu 14.04. Unfortunately the Ubuntu OS isn't running as seamlessly as I'm used to. Firefox can lag, VLC is jumpy, and apps take an age to load.
I just downloaded ubuntu 12.10, and I want to install it on my acer aspire laptop. Here's my acer specifications:
-Intel Pentium Dual Core Processor @ 1.86 GHz
-2,5GB of RAM
-Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100
My question is: can I install ubuntu 12.10 on my laptop with those specs?
