http://www.ubuntux.org – Hi everyone, when I boot the liveCD, no matter what options I choose, I always get the login screen, meaning I need to enter a user and a password. After searching for this type of behavior, I found a few several answers: -enter at the username and password (ie: blank) doesn't work -tried acpi=off, login screen again But... Fedora 12 installed fine. Here was the layout of my HDD: HP Recovery partition NTFS partition with Vista Fedora root (/) partition Extented partition with /tmp /home /var /opt /usr swap free space I read in the installation doc that Ubuntu needs the 1st partition to install/boot. Ok! I deleted the HP Recovery partition; still have the Login Screen. Fedora and Fista (yup, Fista!) are booting fine from the HDD. Thanks for your help. -deesea (Distributions)
