[ubuntu] 9.04 and Lenovo X301 fan speed

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hello Did a fresh install of jaunty. I noticed the fan was unnoticeable at startup, but at random or once I begin to run any applications the fan begins to speed up to a medium-high speed without slowing, even after closing the apps. Its pretty noticeable The system monitor says the cpu isnt running above 5% but the fan is still at full speed Any ideas? Are there any applications that will slow the fan speed? Thanks (Hardware)

I'm getting very slow 3g speed on my htc evo that is flashed to boost mobile. The latest speed test result I got was 138dl/181up 264dl/633up 189dl/722up. My radio is 2.15.00.09.01 n my prl is 61009. Any thoughts, ideas i should try to do see if it my speed would increase?

Slow network with e1000 6 weeks 4 days ago

I've got a problem with my network speed. I sometimes have full download speed (i.e. 5 MB/s, which is about my max. internet dl-speed) and sometimes comparable slow speed (about 0.5 MB/s). This is affects both internet and home network!

When I got slow network speed it stays that way until I 'renew' the module for my PCI network card (sudo rmmod e1000 followed by sudo modprobe e1000).

As soon as i start using the internet the speed is ok. afer a couple of minutes it startss slowing down. Initially the speed is more than 900k however its eventually slows down to 100k. i have to disconnect and reconnect to keep having the speed. My windows speed was more than 900k. i use wireless internet and the router is not faraway from laptop

I used speedtest.net to test the download and upload speed.we usually got pretty fast speed readings 12M download and 2.2Mupload. but when I watch my system updating, I noticed that download speed never got more than 1.3M, what is going on?

I have a problem with laptop fan, which is verry annoying in silent room. On Ubuntu 9.04 amd64 first the fan starts quiet, but after a few minutes it gets higher speed and keeps that speed, even if the computer doesn't need it. On Windows XP OS the fan sometimes start's going faster, but then it slow down again, on Ubuntu - never.

I was using 11.04 natty ubuntu and using USB LAN E-100U network adapter to connect internet. It has started giving me very slow internet speed but window works fine with USB. I don't want to switch to window just for internet speed. Please suggest me the way to improve internet speed.

I have googled and found some tricks but still that does not help to get proper internet speed.

Hi all, how are you?I am running the Awesome WM which does not have its own sitting for mouse double-click speed. Insuch situations you have to set the double-click speed through whichever tool-kit the applicationyou are using is based upon. For GTK2 apps this is not a problem, I simply placegtk-double-click-time=1000 into ~/.gtkrc-2.0 and I am good to go.
