So! I know that there are probably about a million of these topics on the forum, however none really answer my questions.
Is it possible in the future 64bit drivers will work with it? and I have a NetGear Wg111v3 Wireless USB Adapter, if I'm able to find a 64bit XP driver, would it work?
Thanks in advance,
David
Karmic, 32 bit; trying to get a Netgear WG111v3 usb stick running with ndiswrapper. It works on a local unsecured site, but I'd really prefer to have it connect to the site from the cable modem, with WEP security. That last seems to be the problem.
Hi,
After googling around, I followed some of the steps I'd seen in this forum to get the usb adapter working.

I have standard 11.10 that I upgraded, arch is i686
I downloaded ndiswrapper using the Ubuntu Software Center.
Okay, I've got the same newbie problem as the other newbies regarding wireless networking. I got it up and running a few months back, but the nimrod I rent from did something with his Verizon router and screwed everything up; we've got Ubuntu 8.04 on a Dell Dimension 4600C. Now I have to try getting my gf's Netgear WG111v3 back up & running.
I am new to Ubuntu. I have installed it on a few computers before but there was always out of the box support for my wireless cards.
I installed 64bit 10.04 last week and could not get ndiswrapper to work with my wireless driver. I re-installed 32 bit 10.04 and was able to get the 32 bit xp driver to work, but I need to have 64bit because I have 8gb of ram.
Hello,
I am attempting to set-up a computer with Ubuntu 12.10 to act as a media centre.
Hi
I am running Ubuntu 11.10 64bit within Vmware Workstation 7 with Windows 7 64bit as host. I followed the following tutorial:
http://only4geeks.net/?p=37 in order to install the Netgear WPN111 wireless dongle. All the steps seemed to succeed and the dongle blue led flashes as normal however the dongle is not listed under the networks in the toolbar.
Anyone know what could be wrong?
Thanks
Hello everyone.
I have tried everything, i used ndiswrapper, windows driver thingy, and other distros but still no luck. I have tried Ubuntu 10.04, Linux Mint 12, and Ubuntu 11.10 and Linux Mint 11. I just cannot connect with my usb adapter, and yes it is compatible with Linux.
