I got the HDMI adapter, and it works really well. You do have to attach the power cord from your Note to get it to work, but on the plus side it does charge your note while watching HDMI output.
One problem though. Under "Settings/Accessory/HDMI Audio Output" you can select "Stereo" or "Surround".
I'd like to use my Geforce 9800GT's HDMI audio as a separate sound device. I'm using Ubuntu 11.10.
I am working on setting up an HTPC running Ubuntu 12.10. I have been searching for hours for a solution to get 5.1 surround sound working through HDMI, to no avail. I do not know a lot about audio standards or how they are managed in Linux.
Hello!
I hope someone here will be able to help! I'm having a problem with audio over HDMI with mythbuntu 12.04 64bit and only stereo sound works. I decided to build a new machine so I've only been working with this a few days and this is all new to me.
My Setup:
* MSI z77ma-g45 mobo with: HDMI out, core i3 cpu with integrated HD4000 graphics, and realtek ALC892 sound on board.
Sound problem, no HDMI output
Hi all,
Ubuntu 12.04 desktop 64bit
ASUS mobo M5A97R2.0
audio Realtek ALC887
I have been struggling more than a week unable solving the sound problem via HDMI output.
On sound setting
-> Output
HDMI/DisplayPort disappears on "Play sound through"
I have another HD on this PC running Fedora 17 desktop 64bit. There is no problem on sound output via HDMI.
When I drive the audio output on my ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 Graphics using the Sound Settings to my HDMI output for some strange reason it causes Flash video to speed up with no sound.
I am very new to Ubuntu and linux as I have used windows only until yesterday. I am attempting to send my audio signal to my pioneer reciever using a single digital optical cable which is plugged into my M2N Sli Deluxe motherboard. I am sending video with a Geforce 8600gt video card through HDMI. That card does not support audio through HDMI.
I just spent hours to configure the sound to work with HDMI.
My last problem is, when I start playing sound the TV screen goes on and off, like when you change the resolution. When I stop playing sound, 3-5 seconds after, the same thing happen.
I feel like everytime I play/stop the sound, the HDMI connection needs to be resetted.
Hi,
finally I've managed to get 'a display working' and in addition the displays looking exactly the way I want them!
Now another issue has arrived; my displays have built in speakers which work via audio 3.5mm stereo cable or HDMI digital input.
The HDMI digital input was working fine while I had Fedora 15 installed but now with the upgrade it is gone :(
The normal procedure I use (wo
