I would like some guidance on printing from Ubuntu 12.10 on a Windows 7 printer.
I have a VAIO laptop with a dual boot setup of Ubuntu/Windows 7. My original printer (Canon PIXMA MP760) was no problem but that unit decided to give up on me today and I now have an EPSON XP-300.
This unit works fine with Win 7 but there does not seem to be a driver available for Linux.
I previously had this working with Ubuntu 10.x, and just recently upgraded to 12.04 (64 bit).
I had installed the driver from Epson: epson-inkjet-printer-escpr_1.2.0-1lsb3.2_i386.deb, and now also tried: epson-inkjet-printer-escpr_1.2.2-1lsb3.2_i386.deb but neither worked.
> sudo dpkg -i epson-inkjet-printer-escpr_1.2.2-1lsb3.2_i386.deb

I am running Ubuntu 11.10 and am new to Linux. I have this great Epson Stylus Photo 1400 printer which I love because it prints great quality photos and furthermore it can do wide format. But since I ditched windows and went with ubuntu I haven't been able to print to my epson.
Hi,
I have just installed an Epson WP4535-DWF Ethernet connected printer on 192.168.0.19 (Reserved ip).
It's working under Windows 7 and XP clients....
Now I want to access it from my Ubuntu 11.10
I came across this site
http://www.openprinting.org/printers
Which says this model of printer works very well under Ubuntu
(And there seems to be at least three different drivers for it !!!!!!!!!
Hello gentlemen, I do not have a problem - I just want some information.
Epson Workforce 545
Ubuntu 12.04.1 server
Cups is configured and the printer is going wireless.
I have a client workstation using Ubuntu 12.04.1 Desktop. I have the printer hooked up and running as a remote printer so I can send jobs from the client. I am just simply wondering this.
There are lot of printers available in the market . It's not easy to decide that which is better. Followings are the best and fast printers for professionally and office use.
I am trying to find a printer that will run with my Ubuntu 11.04 installation and, having just been to my local PCWorld store, wonder if this Epson printer will run with Ubuntu.
I already have a Lexmark 1480 printer but there is no Ubuntu compatible for this printer so I need another one.
If any one can help, It would be much appreciated.
Many thanks.
