The Ubuntu Developer Summit in Denmark, Copenhagen, was one of the most exciting and interesting so far, mostly because Valve had participated almost as an honored guest.
Ubuntu GNOME 13.04 (Raring Ringtail) has been launched on April 25, along with the Ubuntu and Kubuntu flavors. The developers have decided to stick with the 3.6 branch of GNOME, at least during this release cycle.
Mark Shuttleworth has announced the next Ubuntu release 13.04 codebame as Raring Ringtail.

The current Ubuntu Developer Summit has been rather productive and it seems that Firefox is the first casualty.
The Ubuntu developers have talked about replacing the default Mozilla Firefox browser with Chromium.

Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail has been announced by Mark Shuttelworth a couple of weeks ago, but it seems that the usual release schedule is out the window.Canonical had a very strict release schedule in the past, at least until Ubuntu 12.10, but it's bout to change.
Ubuntu 13.04 is the newest release of Ubuntu, released on April 25, 2013. In the desktop, performance on lightweight systems was a core focus for this cycle, as a result 13.04 delivers significantly faster response times in casual use, and a reduced memory footprint. Key desktop updates are; Unity 7, Upstart 1.8, LibreOffice 4.0, CUPS 1.6.2 and cups-filters 1.0.34 and Python 3.3.
Just like its older brother Ubuntu, the Xubuntu 13.04 (Raring Ringtail) Linux distribution will launch on April 25. It doesn't have as many changes as Ubuntu, but it's still a nice addition.All the Ubuntu 13.04-based Linux distributions will feature the latest stable branch of Linux kernel, 3.8.x.
