When i want to start the download of Ubuntu 12.10 desktop 64 bit, it directly want to download the amd64 iso. Does this mean there is also a Intel version ? If so, where can it be found ? I have an Intel core2duo T9300 2.50Ghz processor so it can run the 64 bit version.

I have installed ubuntu 12.04 32bit on Vmware esxi 5 update 1.
The virtual machine is: 2 core, 4 GB RAM, 64 MB VGA.
Still the vm is very very slow (with and without the vmware tools) .
When i open a video or play a game like neverball it never play good, the sound is great, but graphics is too slow.
i am new in linux, and i don't know if there an drivers to install for the video card or something.
i am using ubuntu 12.04, my computer has: 512 ram, 32bit sis graphic [sis 661/741/760 PCI/AGP], 2.6G intel processor.
Has anyone had a good experience of 12.04 ?
I previewed the Unity desktop (previously using Gnome on 10.04) and hated it, but decided that was the way things are going so I would bite the bullet and try to get used to it.
However I have nothing but problems since upgrading.
Video is slow - can barely play movies.
Picked up a very cheap Dell optiplex 330 on ebay. It has a E7200 Core 2 duo processor with 2 gb ram 667mhz. It isn't top of the line but it is by all means a capable machine. Threw in a 6670 and a ssd drive i had laying around and installed ubuntu for everyday tasks. My issue is ubuntu 12.04 LTS 32bit is so slow. It is like retarded.
I have Windows 7 host machine with 4GB ram and Core-i7 Processor. I have a Virtual Box VM (running linux) and 1.6 GB memory is assigned to it. The problem is when I close my VM, my host machine becomes very slow. All those processes which were minimized in the taskbar take too much time to become active again.
I'm getting choppy playback in flash, 32bit. It's fine until I go fullscreen. Anyone have any ideas? I was thinking of installing the 64bit version of opensuse. My experience of Flash at 64 bit on Ubuntu was very stable and choppy free.
I'm running Core 2 Duo Processor with and ATI Radeon and 2 gig of ram.
I want to know which version of Ubuntu is compatible with my machine.
My PC configuration is:
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo
RAM : 3 GB
System Type : 64-bit
I have currently installed Windows 7 in my machine. Now I want to install Ubuntu 64 bit as well.
First of all, I am not a geek and I am totally new to Linux.
I want to try Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS on my Dell Inspiron 15R laptop. So I want to know whether the hardware of the laptop is compatible with Ubuntu and they'll just work with Ubuntu as fine as they work with Windows 7. Following are my hardware specs as I found. Can any one tell me, will they work fine and the machine will run smoothly?
