In Ubuntu 12.10, Goldendict takes forever to index dictionaries as if it goes into an endless loop. I have multiple dictionaries inside a single folder. Does anyone experience this?
I'm looking for a offline traslator for ubuntu 12.04. I like GoldenDict, but I can't find dictionaries. I have looked for them on google a lot but i can't find anything. I know about babylon dic .bgl, I've downloaded some of them from babylon.com but it's a .exe file, I tried every app to extract it (7zip, rar, ark etc...) and finally I succeeded but there were no .bgl files in the archive.
Goldendict is a complete dictionary for ubuntu desktop that supports dictionaries in Babylon format,StarDict and Dictd. it is very useful if we have internet connection but what can we do if we do not have internet access.
I am currently using gnome on Fedora 11 and English is the default language on the system. I was able to figure out how to make it possible to add Spanish characters when I type (like ñ, ó, é, etcetera). I also figured out how to install Spanish dictionaries for the software I use that commonly does spell checking.
I love resolving my own issues.Although I had hunspell installed with the english dictionaries, I also had aspell installed with no dictionaries. Installing english dictionaries for aspell resolved the problem. This is a strange issue indeed though, as other KDE apps had no problm spell checking using hunspell with the english dictionaries.
How the hell did "selfie" end up being the word of the year? I weep for humanity.
Today Oxford Dictionaries announces selfie as their international Word of the Year 2013. The Oxford Dictionaries Word of the Year is a word or expression that has attracted a great deal of interest during the year to date.
