Ubuntu 12.10 does not detect my internal hard disk

http://askubuntu.com – I installed ubuntu 12.10 on my computer. I don't know where I went wrong but after the installation, I get an error that says "unable to mount location" when I try to access my hard disk. I ran "sudo fdisk -l" in the terminal and found the following result. Can somebody help me out? Thanks. I plug in my Seagate 320Gb GoFlex USB 3.0 drive in order to store my files and I have a problem - it is not accessible automatically anymore (it was before) and the following command shows the system can not see it:

I have problem with overlapping partitions.

Device Boot Start End

Trying to rescue a friend's computer. Put Ubuntu 12.10 on a Flash drive, changed the boot order, and fired it up; no problem. But now that I'm in, I can't seem to find the internal drive!

Any thoughts?

Plugged my external hard drive into my laptop. I assume that I have to mount it before I can access my files?
