http://ubuntuforums.org – Hi I am using 12.04 on my laptop. I read somewhere that battery life ubuntu (45 mins in my case, vs 4 hrs in win7) could be improved by using the correct graphics driver. I have nvidia gforce gt 540m. I tried Code: sudo apt-add-repository ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install nvidia-current but ended up with 640x480 resolution. I then got read of that ppa using ppa-purge. I also removed nvidia-settings and nvidia common from synaptic. How can I get back to normal resolution? And how can I correctly install the nvidia driver for the GT540M? Any help ap (Hardware)
