whenever i try to connect to a wireless network, ubuntu (11.10) asks for the password. when i enter this it thinks for a couple of minutes, then asks for the password again. This happens repeatedly.
I'm using an Acer Aspire 7520, with a AR242x / AR542x Wireless Network Adapter with a clean install of 12.04 from disk.
On bootup my wireless connection works automatically, for a while. Then after about 10/20 minutes of use, the connection drops, and when it attempts to reconnect it repeatedly asks me for the wireless password.
My apologies, after searching on this I found lots of threads, none of which were quite what's happening here;
I'm running a MythTV DVR under Ubuntu 9.10, and it tends to drop wireless on a regular basis. No problem, it's the furthest from the router.
Hi
I have an IBM R51 laptop which I would like to run on ubuntu (as I'm currently running Maverick on my Desktop and like it very much)
I have run the liveCD and everything runs OK except for the wireless network, which although it detects my wireless network, will not let me connect.
I just installed Linux Mint 12 using mint4win just to test it out. I have a problem with my wireless connection.
When I start Mint, it sees the network I wish to join, I select it, enter the correct password, and 1 minute later I am being prompted for a password again.
I'm using 12.04 (32 bit) on a dual boot machine with Windows 7.
I use a wireless adapter (USB) to connect to my router. Yesterday the wireless connection fell over and asked for input of the WPA2 password to reconnect. Entry of the password would not allow reconnect.
I rebooted.
Normally on reboot my system requests a keyring password to activate my network connection.
Howdy. Long time lurker, first-time poster.
I just purchased a refurbed Dell Inspiron 1764 i5 Laptop running 10.04. Having done a little research before receiving it, I knew there were a few issues with the wireless, but it seemed as though they were easily remedied. Not so in my case.
The wireless failed to connect out of the box.
Hello. I brought my computer with Ubuntu 9.10 installed alongside Windows Vista home for the Christmas break. I turned it on today in hopes that I could get on, play around with Linux a little bit, and then do some homework on it. Unfortunately, I intend to get some software which I desperately need to do my work, and this requires internet usage.
Hi there,
I just installed/and updated Xubuntu 10.10 on an older Toshiba Satellite laptop with a belkin wireless card.
When I start up I get a notification that wireless networks are available, and I can choose and connect to my network just fine.
