[ubuntu] 12.04 kernel panic on halt/reboot

view story

http://ubuntuforums.org – I have been getting a kernel panic on our machines at work but not on my home machine or any virtualbox installation of 12.04. This has been occurring since 3.2.0-29-generic and is still present in 3.2.0-30-generic and 3.2.0-31-generic. It does not occur on 3.2.0-27-generic and prior. It is normally a null pointer dereference involving the functions: update_cfs_shares reweight_entity After a few seconds I get hard lockups. I haven't found a solution for this on the internet. There are no logs of the panic available when I reboot. How can I get ubuntu to save the kernel panic log in order t (Hardware)
