[ubuntu] 12.04 Installing Packages problem

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hi all, I just downloaded 12.04 in my machine. And in the Ubuntu Software Center, on the tab for Downloads, I see "Installing Packages" (see attachment). This has been there for a very long time (more than a day). I don't see the normal cancel button on the side which I can use to cancel this download. As a result of this, I cannot download other applications. It looks like the first one must finish before it proceeds to subsequent downloads. Could anyone please help me remove this "installing packages" and fix the problem? Thanks a ton! (Hardware)

Hi! All,

After successfully installing Raring 13.04 and twelve packages, as well as updating to 3.8.0-18 #28; following a reboot, everything was working OK except for ubuntu-tweak and Software Updater.

The later consistantly gave: "Failed to Download repository information" - check your internet connection.

I've been having major problems lately with the Ubuntu Software Center. Every time I try to install something, I get the message "Requires installation of untrusted packages" and gives me the options "ok" and "repair". If I click "ok", then the installation aborts and nothing happens.

I had a fresh installation of Ubuntu 12.04 x64 and after installing Gfx Card Drivers, I tried installing Ubuntu-Restricted-Extras, which due to lack of time, I cancelled in between.

Now, I'm getting this error when I try to install anything.

Actually, I did try with force install/upgrade option, but that error won't go away.

Does anybody have this problem with Gnaural? I'm using Ubuntu 11.10. Gnaural runs fine for awhile, but then starts running wild, going at 2-3 times the normal speed, and the sound files sound like static. My latest Gnaural installation ran for a long time before it went haywire. I used the Terminal to uninstall it.

I have a new installation of Ubuntu 9.10 karmic, but apt-get update gives error messages "Failed to fetch....; Could not resolve..." for all the packages in the sources.list file. The computer is talking to the network and the webserver is working. I can ping external websites. Is there a setting that must be changed to make downloads function?
