I have installed ubuntu on my laptop, but i am having problems with the hdmi port. It doesnt seem to exist.
I have a nvidia gt 415m graphic card and a core i5 which would point at a problem with optimus technology, so i tried to install the new nvidia driver 319, which should help with this problem.

then i tried to googling and try to fix that nvidia problem, but i didnt know what i did, i just type the code that i found from google :(, and problems coming..
the screen went 640 x480, but i managed to fix it by installing another
2 machines; one laptop with Intel graphics, one desktop with nvidia graphics.
Live cd boots fine in the laptop but displays weird graphical glitches when attempting to boot with nvidia machine.
Conclude that there must be a problem with nvidia graphics right now.
Tried nomodeset but only gets as far as login screen then freezes in low graphics mode.
Have had problems with every new ite

Let me start off by saying, I've been trying to run Ubuntu on my custom PC for about 2 years. From 10.04 to 12.04, this problem persists.
When I try to boot Ubuntu from either a USB stick or a CD, I see the normal Ubuntu splash screen.
I have recently started using Arch with nvidia driver (I had a lot of problems getting nouveau to even work so I decided to try nvidia) and I started experiencing rather odd problems.
