I will try to keep the length of this post down, but it does require a bit of back story.
BACKGROUND: Bought the Asus 1015 (HERE for specs) for cheap with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS native. Worked awesome all summer, returned to my job at an International School. Had the tech guys install Windows 8 - problems with dual install - wiped native Ubuntu - installed Windows 8.
I installed Ubuntu on 1015-CX netbook by Asus but it lags like hell. I saw a video of Ubuntu here http://www.ubuntu.com/phone in which the CEO says that Asus is shipping with Ubuntu. If its supported then why its lagging on my netbook ? I had very high hopes to use Ubuntu out of the box on my netbook but all went in vain. :(
I'm new to Linux and I'm trying to use Ubuntu (11.10) on my Netbook (Asus Eeepc 1015) trough USB boot, but my keyboard layout is all messed up.
It's like the "o" key is 6, the "k" is 2 and go on.
I've searched on the keyboard layout settings for a proper layout, but no luck.
Is it a prob from booting from USB or there is a drive download or something to fix that?
Hello, I am considering buying the Asus Eee PC 1101HA Seashell, I would like to know about compatibility with Ubuntu AND/OR Ubuntu Netbook Remix, and If possible for the things that don't work what I must do when I buy it to make them work.
On CEBIT 2010, ASUS introduce their new Eee PC family. Its Eee PC 1015PE, newly redesigned of Eee PC with aluminum body materials. Inside it appears they will be available with Intel’s Pine Trail Atom N450 and N470 processors, and apparently the forthcoming N455 and N475 CPUs. Also ASUS launch the 1018P and 1016P.
I have an Asus AMD 64bit laptop with dual boot win7 / fedora 19.
This is a recent reinstall of win7 from backup disks and grub/f19 added to that.
A week or so after f19 install I made it to a library to do win7 and Asus updates.
