I have a laptop with Intel Sandybridge/HD3000 graphics.
Under Windows, the hardware is capable of supporting two displays (laptop display plus external monitor).
Under XUbuntu/XFCE, I can choose laptop display or the external monitor, but cannot enable dual-displays. There is no option for extended display.
hi all,
I am using 9.10 rc (32-bit) with an external monitor in extended desktop mode, working so far. but the primary desktop is my laptop display (the small one) and I want to change this to the 19 inch monitor (make the big one to the default, showing the gnome panels, etc.).
I am having a few strange issues with my new SUSE 11.3 install. This is my first time attempting to use it as my full time OS, so I can't say if these problems existed in previous versions.
1.) When I configure extended desktop, it works fine, but the settings do not save. Anytime I reboot my system, I have to reconfigure the Dual Display settings
I have ubuntu 12.04 on my laptop, and I have an external monitor connected to my system.
I have enabled the second monitor from the "Displays..." menu (btw, is there a way to make external monitors enabled by default?
I'm running PCLinuxOS 2010.07 (KDE) on my Acer laptop with Intel Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller. I have an external Acer monitor that displays at 1920*1080. I have selected my laptops internal screen to be disabled and use the external screen. The PC LinuxOS Control Centre selected the 'Intel later than 810 driver'.
I am having an issue with trying to connect an external monitor to my Dell XPS laptop with Ubuntu 12. Playing with the BusID does not seem to make much difference. My default device, which I thought would be pointing to my laptop screen, is apparantly influecing where my desktop is displayed.
Hi,
Apologies if this is somehow covered elsewhere. I've done a good bit of searching to no avail.
I'm running 2 monitors from a fresh install of F17 on my Dell Latitude D410.
Monitor 1: the laptop's LCD screen - detected, all fine and dandy.
Monitor 2: an external flatscreen monitor.
I have a Dell Precision M6500 laptop with 2 x 24" dell monitors connected via a docking station.
Hello,I have a problem which seems to be rather strange for Linux laptop problems - I can only get to the desktop through X11 after closing the lid, letting the laptop suspend, and opening the lid again to resume. Before this point, everything through the console works and I can switch to a TTY, but after KDM is started (via systemd) a blank screen appears.
