Ubuntu 12.04 beta, can't install older versions of wine.

http://ubuntuforums.org – Yes, I know it's a beta so things may just be broken. But I thought I'd ask just in case somebody can help. I usually use 10.04, and I play a game using WINE that works fine. I thought I'd try it on 12.04, but a patch won't install. WINE errors saying "Internal errors - Invalid parameters received". Since I installed it on 10.04 ages ago when WINE was around patch 1.3 or maybe lower, I thought I'd try an older version of WINE in 12.04, instead of 1.4 rc6 which is what is installed. WINE 1.4, 1.3 and 1.2 all appear in the synaptic package list, but all these versions install WINE (Hardware)

I installed Wine 1.4 rc5. Later I realised that this wine won't work because there is no sound. I removed it using Synaptic Package Manager and installed Wine 1.2 which is the stable version of Ubuntu 10.04. Even though I install it. It's still showing Wine 1.4 rc-5. How can I remove wine 1.4-rc5 and install Wine 1.2 ?

Hello all, I'm using Ubuntu x64 12.10, and I'm currently unable to install Borderlands using playonlinux or wine.

When I try to install using the POL present, it gets to the very last step where the VC C++ 2008 installer tries to run, and it puts out this error:

Internal errors - Invalid parameters received

If I try using wine, I run this command:

Code: WINEPREFIX=~/.wine/borderla

Hello, I am new to building and compiling WINE and in the case of Darksiders 2 I need to patch it myself. I am currently attempting to build it myself, but it keeps giving me missing files errors (I've then gone and installed them) and I'm afraid the version I compile won't work. I will report back if the version I compile works.

I installed Ubuntu 12.04, after installed some soft from Ubuntu Software Center, apt-get and aptitude (i'm choosing what is better, apt-get or aptitude so using them both).

All was fine, but only Flash didn't want to install due broken dependencies.

Hey all, my 12.04 install gets more and more stable every day I update it, and most of my annoying problems have disappeared.

I'm trying to install Wine, as I want to try and get SAPGui working under it (school gives me a Windows installer and an OS X program...nothing for linux).

I wanna wine a windows .exe program. first time i wine it ,i get an error message :"mfc42.dll cant be found" then i install it with winetricks i wine it again, this time i get

"fixme:toolhelp:CreateToolhelp32Snapshot Unimplemented: heap list snapshot"

I just dont know what it means , can anybody help ?

We have been changed how wine is built. From now on, we have wine, wine-mono and wine-gecko. Possible to only install wine and wine-mono, or wine and wine-gecko. If you do conary updateall in fl:2-devel label, you will need to install wine-mono and wine-gecko to get those.
