I tried Ubuntu and decided Windows 7 was good enough for me.I tried to uninstall it but in Disk Management in Windows 7, I can't find the partition for Ubuntu. There are HP_Tools, OS (C:), Recovery (D:) and SYSTEM partitions and are all NTFS. My HDD has 250 GB, but it shows only ~230 GBs.
Hi
Well I will tell you which was my problem.
I was on internet last night, all was good.
I left my laptop on stand by and today on the morning I could wake up my laptop so I turn it of the manua way. When I start again, I notice there is something going wrong
I'm running Ubuntu 12.10 with Gnome 3 and every time I power on my system, there is always a disk check which is getting kind of annoying. I am dual booting with Windows 7 and also have a second hard drive in my laptop that is replacing the CD drive. The only thing I've found was this post, which hasn't worked.
Any thoughts?
Hello there, i've recently purchased a Toshiba Satellite C850D-107 for my university work to go alongside my desktop. I have got Windows on desktop and then decided to install Ubuntu onto here as a complete install with no windows installation left on here so that i can easily learn to program in java just on the laptop and keep it separate from the Windows machine.
I think the answer must be very simple, but I still don't know it.
I have installed Ubuntu 12.10 in my Windows 7 laptop.
After installing Ubuntu and started using it I decided to restart my laptop. But when I turned it on again,it still asks me if I want to use Windows 7 or Ubuntu.
How can I get rid of Windows 7 so as to start directly from Ubuntu the next time I turn my computer on?
Thanks!
Hi there, I made a LiveUsb for Ubuntu 13.04 to check it out on trial mode, it booted rather slowly and it would freeze for a few seconds every time i tried to check something, like checking the volume, about a minute after logging in, I tried to change the mouse sensitivity, Ubuntu froze in this screen for 5 minutes so I decided to reboot.
Hi All:
So this is a pretty general question, and I think I know how it works, it's just I want to check to make sure I got it right.
I have this laptop that I use the most, and I decided to run Ubuntu on it too so I can constantly practice using Ubuntu. The thing is, I don't think I want to install Ubuntu (as a dual boot) alongside Windows, so I'm going the Live CD route.
I've got an Asus laptop running Ubuntu 12.04 and Windows 7 on separate partitions. Ethernet/wireless works fine if I do the following:
1. Boot into Windows (first thing in the morning)
2. Boot into Ubuntu (first thing in the morning or a long time after using windows)
3. Boot into Windows immediately after being in Ubuntu.
