I have a Compaq pessario CQ60, a wireless network, and a Atheros AR5001 Wireless Network Adapter and I cant get the wireless internet to connect. the wireless works fine on vista, and I got the internet working via cable, but I need to get it working wirelessly. I am a beginner to linux, but know a little ( nothing in terminal though).
The stick is OK, and all the other networks next door appear, however my local network is absent. The network shows up and works on my laptop running xp and windows 7 via their internal adapters.
It also worked fine in the desktop 30 mins before I loaded Ubuntu 9.1 on top
Stick is Belkin N Wireless Adapter bundled with Belkin N Wireless router Z528 ref no.
Hello all, I've tried looking through some of the problems with wireless networking and I can't quite find one that resolves my issue. Here's the deal.
The install of Ubuntu 11.10 on this laptop is about a week old, and wireless was working with the proprietary Broadcom STA wireless drivers.
I have a strange problem, my wireless adapter works, in that I am able to see other wireless networks, except my own! It's very frustrating. I can't even manually connect to my wireless network. I've even disabled security temporarily. Whenever I boot back into Windows, I am able to connect to the network with no problems =/ Any suggestions?
I recently installed xfce4 with a wired connection and used the newly updated install cd ISO. After using the wired connection to install what I needed I went on to install what is needed for the wireless setup. I went with wpa_supplicant and networkmanager. I configured my wpa_supplicant.conf appropriately and installed the drivers needed for my atheros wireless adapter.
Hi
I have an IBM R51 laptop which I would like to run on ubuntu (as I'm currently running Maverick on my Desktop and like it very much)
I have run the liveCD and everything runs OK except for the wireless network, which although it detects my wireless network, will not let me connect.
So I recently installed Ubuntu on my Acer Aspire V3-551 laptop. I have an Atheros AR5BWB222 wireless adapter.
Everything works fine except for the wireless. I can sometimes connect to the wireless, but most of the time it will be making an attempt to connect and then enver connect.
I turned off the SSID beacon on my wireless router. Before hand, my box would connect straight away. after I turned off the beacon it sometimes takes up to a full 2 minutes or more to find it and connect. I can speed up the process by disabling the wireless adapter and reenabling through the NetworkManager icon.
I am trying to connect my desktop to a wireless network. I have purchased an ASUS USB-N13 B1 adapter. I have followed instructions for installing drivers and disabling conflicting drivers. I have thoroughly searched and could not find a solution. The adapter is recognized and powered on. I have entered the ssid and password information into the wireless network configuration.
