Am running some legacy software for my business, which runs on dBase 5, which has been updated over the years with a great deal of investment in time; this runs our finances, ordering, etc. pretty well. In order to be able to switch my business to Ubuntu (which I would like to do), I have to be able to run these programs, and particularly print data.
I am running Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.3. I am using CUPS to print. What i want to do is use a printer class so it will print to the first printer that is turned on. It works fine until the first printer in the class is out of paper. The print job goes to the first printer and waits for more paper to print, but then also prints to the next printer in the class.
Hie guys i installed a canon MF8300cdn printer using the relevant help and now i want to add the LBP7660 to my printers list but i cannot seem to get it to print.

It does print the Test Page but - even properly recognized as an HP 4100 printer serie) - it does'nt print documents as simple as smb.conf for example : it prints the correct number of pages but all of them are blank.
Black Ink supply is obviously full.
I must say that I used it to print from this printer before I moved to Ubuntu 14.04.
I have a Kodak ESP C315 printer which used to work perfectly on Ubuntu 11.04 LTS but, since I upgraded to 12.04 LTS, the printer will no longer print from a browser. It prints local documents fine, but when I try to print something from a browser, it prints a blank page whereas, before, it would print the page from the browser fine.
I have 11.10 (64 bit) installed on a ThinkPad T420s. Everything works great, except I cant print. The HP Envy 410 is a wireless printer. I've got it connected to my network via my AirPort and I can print from my MacBook Air so I know everything works. I tried adding the printer in Linux. The driver downloaded and installed.
Hello first let me say the printer is new and works fine with other operating systems. I recently installed Ubuntu 14.04 and am very pleased with everything.
My Brother DCP-7060D printer is recognized in Ubuntu, however when I try to print a page it puts job in que but never completes the task.
I currently have 12 jobs waiting to print acording to the pop up window after I select print.
