Hi All,
I have two monitors connected to my Desktop. One is 22" Dell monitor connected by means of a VGA cable and a 24" Dell monitor connected via DVI cable. I have installed the ATI driver and I have ubuntu 11.10 installed. I see a cloned display. However, I would like to set up such that the two screens act as one large display.
Hi *
When I use two monitors, the desktop area changes to incorporate the display areas of the two monitors. When I have a large number of icons on the desktop in this configuration, I encounter the problem of having the icons run outside of the displayed area. The icons become accessible only through the use of Nautilus etc.
Is there some way to address this?
I previously enabled the display of the Computer, Home, Trash, and Network Servers icons on the desktop on Ubuntu 12.04, probably using MyUnity. Today, I installed a custom icon set and after rebooting, all four icons disappear from the desktop. I switched back to the default icon set, all of this using MyUnity, and rebooted.
As the title suggests, my desktop icons don't show on the desktop after I upgraded to 12.10 from 12.04. Also, I can't right-click on the desktop - no menu appears. Everything else seems OK though. What could it be?
If I open Nautilus, my desktop icons and files are still there in my Desktop folder.
hello all,
i have a problem with ubuntu 9.10 on my thinkpad r61 lenovo laptop.
I installed Fedora18 32 bit in virtualbox (Host is Fedora17). I installed with netinstall iso plus cinnamon desktop.
I installed kernel-devel, kernel-headers, gcc & dkms & thereafter virtualbox guest additions. It did not set correct display.
My monitor display is 1280*1020. It allows me to set it at 1280*960. Next size is 1440*1050.
I checked graphics. It is using llvmpipe.
I restarted my computer, and when I logged back in, I noticed that all of my files that were on the desktop are gone. Instead, icons of all of my home folder are showed on my desktop.
I opened the terminal and found out that there is no ~/Desktop folder.
What happened? What do I need to do?
12.04 32-bit WUBI installed.
I use KDE 4.3 on 11.2 and notice whenever I log in I cannot access my desktop. I use the folder view setting and I cannot drag items from Dolphin/Firefox/etc. onto the desktop. I can restore this functionality to the desktop after setting it to display the home folder and then switch it back to desktop.
Is anyone else having this problem?
Hi all, I've just installed Ubuntu 11.10 on my desktop machine and am trying to serve a remote desktop to my netbook. I'm running vnc4server to serve a new X session on port 5901. (So, X session :1)
The first problem I had was that nothing loaded at all, except for a desktop background.
