I have a kvm-switch (keyboard, video, mouse) to switch between my 2 computers.
One runs on Ubuntu(latest version), the other on windows 7.
When i switch from one computer to the other, my display is not correct.
I have the same issue on two laptop computers with Intel Graphic Chip sets.
1st Laptop - Intel GMA 4500
Laptop display resolution is fine however external monitor will not go higher than 1024x768. On windows this computer manages 1366x768 with the same monitor.
2nd Laptop - Intel GMA 950
Laptop display resolution is fine however external monitor will not go higher than 1024x768.
i have been running ubuntu 9.10 netbook remix on my dell mini 10 for a couple of weeks and i love it. my brother used my computer and somehow the display got all screwed up. its slow and not right. when i start the computer up i get an error saying ubuntu is running in low graphic mode and i cant change anything in the display icon. the display says its 1024 and my netbook is 1366.
I just installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS with WUBI, everything is going fine and ubuntu is awesome but i have a little problem. When i open my Sony VAIO model E laptop, i have 2 choices (which is normal) but when i select Ubuntu 1/2 of the time it will just give a rapidly blinkin color background and can only be corrected if i reboot the computer and select ubuntu again.
Hello,
I've recently installed Ubuntu 11.10 32bit on my laptop. I use a 2nd monitor connected to my laptop and after installing & updating Ubuntu for the first time, I went to display settings to set the monitor as the main display and deactivated the laptop screen display.
Hi,
I am building a new PC at home and I want to run Windows 7 64bit and Ubuntu 11.10 64bit in dual boot.
I have at work 2 PC, one with an ATI card the other with a nvidia card, with both at some point I had to solve display problem, whether when installing catalyst driver or with the driver utility from nvidia (impossible to get dual display, no display at all, etc..).
I'm having some issues connecting an external monitor to my laptop using the vga cable. If I plug the cable in while the system is running, the system grinds to a near halt. If I attempt to use Preferences>Display to detect the additional display, the app locks up and I am forced to close it manually.
First, I am new to Linux in general so my knowledge is little. I am having a problem installing Ubuntu 12.10 on my desktop. I can’t install or run the live cd of Ubuntu, on my display it appear invalid format. I will like to know if there is way for installing Ubuntu.
hi all,
I am using 9.10 rc (32-bit) with an external monitor in extended desktop mode, working so far. but the primary desktop is my laptop display (the small one) and I want to change this to the 19 inch monitor (make the big one to the default, showing the gnome panels, etc.).
