Hi, I started using amarok again, and a strange issue with pulseaudio comes up : when I modify the master volume (either through kmix, or veromix), Amarok's volume is increased/decreased by the same amount. It does however stay relative : If master is at 100%, Amarok at 75%, and I drop master to 0, then back to 100%, Amarok stays at 75%.
Ive been using Veromix without issue for some time now, but yesterday the widget decided to stop working. This error message is displayed in the widget:
"This object could not be created for the following reason: Could not create a python ScriptEngine for the Veromix widget."
A quick google brought up several bug reports, but I didnt see a solution anywhere.
Ok, well I am pretty new to OpenSuse. With that said, I am struggling a little bit with Amarok. I want a Media player that is capable of playing mp3's and from what I have read, I just need to install certain packages to make this happen.
Maybe this is where I am making my mistake, but I am attempting to install from this link.
Since we began seriously working on Amarok 2 more than two years ago, Amarok has come a very long way. Looking back at screenshots of some of the very early incarnations of Amarok 2 can be almost frightening, and it is clear that Amarok 2 has changed much since then. While the Amarok 2.0 release was in no way perfect, it was more importantly a solid foundation to work on, and Amarok 2.1 is already shaping up to be a much more well rounded music manager.
I am having a problem with Amarok 1.4.10 in openSUSE 11.1 that was not in 10.3. When Amarok is playing, the hard drive is in constant use. If something else, like a find, runs Amarok starts skipping. There is also a skip when ever I un-pause play. I dont see anything in Amarok config to increase or use a memory cache.
I'm running F17 (KDE x64) using Amarok 2.6.0. When I plug in my iPod Nano (the one with the video camera at the back), Amarok doesn't recognize it. I have libgtkpod installed, and after some Googling i haven't found anything more recent than about a year ago that is relevant.
I don't know if it's a dependency problem or an incompatibility between my iPod and Amarok.
One thing to check is that all the volume sliders are 'up' in alsmixer. Often the speaker/headhone or PCM channels are set lower.Other users prefer pulseaudio/veromix which I understand can add more gain.
